Own Your Workouts Eagles

I was virtually speaking to one of my Eagle friends recently about experimenting with different types of exercises. As someone who has just celebrated one year of being back on the fitness journal after being away for over 18 years I find most serious cardio exercises (you know biking, running and swimming) are hard to do but each day I push forward. For I have a dream/goal of weighing about 80lbs less than I did in 2011, having six-pack abs and participating in my first 5K run and iron man event soon. But I hate to run and I cannot swim very smoothly. So I do not make these activities a major part of my daily routine. I do not want to get discouraged, side tracked and quit all together.

I saw a post once somewhere in “social media land” that said “find the exercise that you have the most fun doing and make it yours.” For instance, for me it is power walking on a Life Fitness Treadmill. I walk as hard as some folks run slowly. I first conquered the maximum number of minutes that I can stay on (a year ago I could barely get to 15 minutes and level 0). Then I conquered the maximum levels or how high I could simulate climbing. Now I am adding weights to a back pack to simulate carrying heavy objects up this simulated mountain. I own it! But again I hate running, yet this activity gives me many of the benefits of running without some of the potential injuries.

So for now one core exercise is power walking. I burn lots of calories and am seeing major results on the scales and in the mirror. So Keep moving forward and find the exercise that you can own.
You will crave doing it and the results will be fabulous! #ProjectHealthySexyStrong2013 and #ProjectHealthySexyStrongForLife “Burning Calories, Extending Life.”

Hope For 2012

Happy New Year Eagles. Hope For 2012. (Jeremiah 29:11-14 NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

My Prayer For 2012

Each day new mercies I see.  My prayer for 2012 is for the LORD to continue to show me and my family favor; to enlarge my territory with opportunities, new clients and revenue streams; to let my actions mirror my words; victory for President Obama’s reelection; drastic improvement in our economy; health and peace in the world; and safety and love for all children everywhere.

Time To Wake Up Everybody. We have to be the change Eagles!

I woke up thinking about all the information that we are being bombarded with: senseless murders; theft; joblessness; health crisis; lack of health insurance; homelessness; local and worldwide hunger; economic bleakness; out of control cost of education; the GOP mess; the political stage; the various occupations…and I find myself asking myself when will things change? I find myself asking myself when this storm will pass. I mean the storms always passes; right? Right!

This storm is only going to pass after we all get more active in the political and economic processes. We all have been given or have developed skills and talents that can be used to address and solve all the ills of the world. But some of us have chosen to sit on the sideline and wait; I am not sure on who or what, but they are waiting.

It is as if the alarm clock did not go off and they are still asleep. I believe that is why the words of John Legend’s song “Wake Up Everybody” speak so strongly to me. So much has changed but there is so much which remains the same; and possibly gotten worse; when you compare the time which has passed since the original version of this song was made famous by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes.

Wake Up Everybody. The good news is that I believe that we can make a difference Eagles! We can cause change. I hope that at a minimum everyone that reads this post will become more active in the political process. First make sure you are registered to vote. Then make sure your qualifying family members and friends are registered to vote. Next, volunteer to help local and national candidates. Donate money to support the candidates of your choice. And to really leverage these activities; please start reading and paying attention to the debates and analytical shows that are out there; in other words know learn what the issues are and what is at stake for yourselves instead of what someone else has told you. Wake Up Everybody!

Start reading more the local, state, national and worldwide economies. Each economic action has an effect on the all the economies. Not knowing much about it always places the uninformed in a reactionary state; usually a state of crisis. The informed can plan better, anticipate what economic or political storm is coming and how to better prepare. Wake Up Everybody!

“Wake Up Everybody”
(with The Roots, feat. Common & Melanie Fiona)

Wake up everybody
No more sleepin’ in bed
No more backward thinkin’
Time for thinkin’ ahead

The world has changed
So very much
From what it used to be
There is so much hatred
War and poverty, whoa, oh

Wake up, all the teachers
Time to teach a new way
Maybe then they’ll listen
To what’cha have to say

‘Cause they’re the ones who’s coming up
And the world is in their hands
When you teach the children
Teach ‘em the very best you can

The world won’t get no better
If we just let it be, na, na, na
The world won’t get no better
We gotta change it, yeah
Just you and me

Wake up, all the doctors
Make the old people well
They’re the ones who suffer
And who catch all the hell

But they don’t have so very long
Before the Judgment Day
So wont’cha make them happy
Before they pass away

Wake up, all the builders
Time to build a new land
I know we can do it
If we all lend a hand

The only thing we have to do
Is put it in our mind
Surely things will work out
They do it every time

The world won’t get no better
If we just let it be, na, na, na
The world won’t get no better
We gotta change it, yeah
Just you and me

It’s the God hour, the morning I wake up
Just for the breath of life I thank my maker
My mom say I come from hustlers and shakers
My mind builded on skyscrapers and acres
He said take us back to where we belong
I try to write a song as sweet as the Psalms
Though I am the type to bear arms and wear my heart on my sleeve
Even when I fell in God I believe
We the days at
Weave through the maze and the season so amazing
Feed them and raise them
Seasons are asian
Earthquakes, wars and rumors
I want us to get by but we more then consumers
We more than shooters
More than looters,
Created in his image,
So God live through us,
And even in his generation living through computers
On love, love, love can reboot us

Wake up, everybody
Wake up, everybody
Need a little help, y’all
Yes I do, need a little help

Need a little help, y’all ay
Wake up everybody
Wake up everybody
Wake up everybody

Every day is a Good Day; “A GOD Day”

Every day is a Good Day; “A GOD Day”. Today has had many challenges for me, but it has been a good day; a GOD Day. I lost my temper today, but it has been a good day; a GOD Day. I got worried about health challenges today, but it has been a good day; a GOD Day. I am listening to music and working in my virtual office now, enjoying a spirit of peace and calm, for it has been a good day; a GOD Day!

One of the Eagles on Facebook shared a piece of her testimony today and this bible verse “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5(KJV). In her own words it was suggested that by focusing on the fact that JESUS, GOD’s only son paid the ultimate sacrifice for all our sins, we can know that trouble, sickness and pain is only temporary; she says “….during my health issues I prayed on Isaiah 53:5 every chance I got every time I was in pain and just quoting it and the sickness and pain was just gone after a while! Praise the Lord!” Thank you Eagle Audrey.

Yes every day is a GOD Day!

No Fear

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4 KJV)

I have no fear this day. I hear the spirit of the GREAT COMFORTER, the GREAT I AM affirming to have “No fear, come what may no fear!”

Happy Sunday Eagles!
